What do I get when buying The Beast?
The Beast is composed as follow:
- 2 heatsinks
- a case in 6mm black painted aluminum & textured aluminum
- a black shade tempered glass or aluminum panels
- a front panel (power button, audio & micro, 1x USB C, 2x USB 2.0, 2x USB 3.1 Gen.2)
- a GPU spreader
- a custom riser PCI 16x Gen4
- a kit of extended cables for back panel (1x HDMI, 2x Display Port, 4x USB 3.1 Gen.2, 1x USB type C, 1x RJ45)
What is the weight of The Beast?
The Beast is quite heavy.
What are the dimensions of The Beast?
The Beast is 450mm x 380mm x 210mm.
Does it really make no noise?
For configurations up to 150W CPU and 250W GPU, The Beast is cooled passively without any fan. For higher configurations, The Beast is cooled silently with low speed 140 mm fans installed on the top of the chassis. In this case, the fans are only activated during short period of time in the event of intense computing (benchmark, software calculation, AAA Games, etc.). From an electronics perspective, some electronics components may intrinsically produce “coil whine”. This electrical noise is independent of the cooling solution and can be avoided by selecting premium brands.
Can I choose the color of my Beast?
The Beast is only available in black for now.
Is there any thermal impact by choosing the glass panels instead of the aluminum panels?
No, the sides parts are not active, only the front and back panels are connected to the thermal drains and spread the heat.
How can I assemble The Beast alone?
We will release tutorial videos and a step by step manual before shipping the first batch.
How can you provide right fixtures for my components?
When an order is placed, each client receive an automatic email confirming the order and asking which motherboard and graphic card they plan to mount into their Beast. By answering this email, the team will be able to add the right fixtures into the package. Each fixture is also available for free online for next upgrades of components.
I don’t want to assemble The Beast alone, what can I do?
Feel free to contact the team at firstname.lastname@example.org, we will be happy to discuss about your needs!
Is there a risk to pay preorders that will be only shipped the next quarter?
If you feel like uncomfortable paying for preorders, feel free to use Paypal that offers 6-months guarantee in case of refund. We also invite you checking your bank conditions that might apply some guarantee in case of refund. Or you can simply wait for The Beast getting on stock in 2021!
How can I know the unit number of my Beast?
The Beast is numbered. The unit numbers will be engraved at the very last, before finalizing your order and shipping it to your address. This to avoid any changes due to potential refund requests. If you want an estimation of your unit number, feel free to contact the team at email@example.com
Is The Beast compatible with my motherboard?
The Beast is compatible mini-ITX > ATX. We didn’t notice any issue with specific motherboards so far. The compatibility list will be updated quickly.
Is The Beast compatible with my graphic card?
The Beast is compatible with most (all) graphic cards up to 290 mm PCB length. We hope updating our “compatibility” section quickly, but the lack of stock with the new Ampere cards impacts this specific work. Feel free to contact us if you need to check a reference.
My graphic card is longer than 290mm, why is it compatible?
A graphic card is composed of a PCB with a housing (heatsink and fan) mounted onto it. The assembled graphic card can be longer than the PCB itself. The effective length to take in consideration for The Beast is the PCB length. This explain why some graphic cards are compatible although being longer than 290 mm, housing included.
Is there any warranty problem to remove my graphic card heatsink and fan (HSF)?
To mount the graphic card onto The Beast heatsink, you will have to remove the HSF (heatsink and fan). This step is mandatory to have a passive computer. Each graphic card manufacturer has its own warranty policy regarding the disassembly of the HSF. Please refer to your card specification. Disassembling a card is a quite mainstream process in all high-end cooling solutions, liquid cooling being the most common example.
What about VRMs & Memories cooling?
VRMs and Memories can be cooled with small heatsinks taped available on our eshop. We also designed a special VRMs cooling solution compatible with full length PCBs. For TDP higher than 180W, a full spreader covering is included with The Beast. If a spreader is not required with your graphic card, the overpaid will be deduced to your shipping costs. Please refer to the question “When will you charge the shipping costs of pre-orders?” for more information. Do you need us to check your card? Feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
What about the weight of the spreader?
While the spreader is heavy, it is directly connected to the cooler block which is fixed to the heatsink. This assembly is extremely robust and secures the PCB against any movement.
How my motherboard will be secured into The Beast?
ATX motherboard do not get their weight allocated equally. That means a loud part of the board can not be connected to the cooler block. To avoid any issue, special brackets are designed to fix the motherboard to the structure. Formats smaller than ATX are not concerned by this potential issue.
What about cards not listed on your website?
Many references have been added into our “compatibility” section but not all of them at listed. For graphic cards, most of the time this is due to the lack of pictures available online. Feel free to contact us if you need us to check a specific reference.
Is The Beast compatible with my power supply?
The First is compatible with SFX, SFX-L and ATX full length power supplies.
How many storage drives can I install into The Beast?
The Beast allows the mounting of 4 HDDs 3.5’’ or 8 SSDs 2.5’’. Please note we do not recommend the installation of HDDs that can be very loud, especially into a fanless case (=0dB).
Is The Beast compatible with 200mm fans?
The Beast is not compatible with 200mm fans for now. A solution is currently studying to allow the mounting of 200mm fans at the bottom of the case.
Is The Beast compatible with PCI card?
The Beast is compatible with PCI card. With mini-ITX motherboard, it can be connected directly onto the board. With other formats, you can use one of the two back panel slots with a dedicated 3D printing part, or you can use the HDDs slots that are compatible but will require the using of a riser.
Do you offer warranty or support?
We offer a 2-years guarantee in the European Union, 1-year elsewhere for the mechanical and cooling parts.
What is the maximum TDP?
Power max CPU: 300W
Power max GPU: 320W
What is the recommended configuration?
In full fanless mode:
In silent mode (2x 140mm at 500RPM):
What are the solutions to optimize cable management?
Cables management is a critical aspect for 2 main reasons: (1) it has an impact on the interior aestheticism of the case and most important, (2) it can impede air flow and reduce passive cooling efficiency if not properly done. Although cables management of The Beast can be done quite easily with standards length cables, we will propose custom cables options with specialized partners. Additional cables are already included with The Beast. Their length optimizes the cable management and air flow into The Beast. We also designed special parts for cable routing available at the bottom of the case.
When do I get my Beast?
